When my daughter asked to be wonder woman for her birthday (4 days before halloween), I had to find a way. I made a simple corset style bodice from a thrift store prom dress. Painted gold stars on her blue leggings and spray painted her boots to match wonder woman. It then took me weeks to make her armour out of craft foam, muslin, glue, rhinestones, and paint….did I mention glue…lots of glue! The funniest part was the cape. I simply cut the skirts off of 3 thrifted prom dresses and sewed sections together in the design of the famous Linda carter wonder woman style. I lined it with the lining from the prom dress I used for the bodice. Last I sewed stars all over it. She thought she was a real super hero. She practiced stopping pretend bullets with her cuffs for days. I love to sew..not just sew..create and bring enjoyment to my children.
