These are costumes depciting Hogwarts Ghosts. Made in mostly polyester, polyester micro fiber suede, interfacing, and buckram. These costumes are modified bits from lots of different commercially available patterns or self drafted. The main exception is the hat, which I drafted from a book, titled “From The Neck Up”. The hat begins with buckram and the pattern is a basic pilgrim style hat. This is constructed of 3 major buckram peices and milliner’s wire. It is then covered, and I sewed the hat band and added the buckle, which s a modfied picture frame. The hat band has channels sew in it for the feathers. There is not one drop of glue used on that hat!The male ghost (me) has a doublet, which is a modified poet shirt pattern with a self drafted petulum. The shorts are severely shortedned pants from a dancer’s pants. These pants are self patternd cuffs. Over the doublet is a lined fencing cloak, which I self patternd off instructions on the internet. The fencing cloak has ties and a collar. The ruff is made using box pleat style instructions from the internet. The shoes are painted, and I sewed velcro to them and self drafted the rosettes that are on the shoes. I had to make a lot of the striped trim for the male ghost. The amount of trim this costume consumed was enormous. Finally, I sewed the white poly hair to a ribbon to make a wig.The gal ghost is wearing a ribbon tied belt that I made so our costume would complement each other. I also sewed the veil into the tiara. In short, everything on the male ghost I sewed, except the socks and the shoes.
