Plant Rug

My project could have come out better if i had the proper tools so that is very important to have the proper tools such as rulers, cutting mat, fabrics, and believe it or not even space to be able to lay everything out evenly instead of a rug. Anyway, you work with what you have and make the best of it and get a little creative. I had some leftover fabrics and i wanted to make something with the rose fabric showing so once i was done, i used it for my plant as a plant rug. It did have an inch of the tan fabric around it but i had a hard time with the stitchng and the fabric moving on me so i trimmed it and i like it better that way. Think i am going to make a few more. I sewed about 1 1/2″ SA around, pivoting at corners, then i sewed along the edge the whole project, top, then the flowered lining fabric a piece of batting then bottom piece. Matched it all up, ironed and pinned it. After sewing the square 1 1/4″ in, i then grabbed that piece and cut all along the inside along the sewn seam. Hope you like it.
