GaleGalen strives to recreate the understated sophistication of fashion from European and American designers from past eras. This blue/gray Shantung dress is created from a 1950s David Goodstein pattern from the Spadea years. An underlining was added to the construction to help with form and ensure longevity of the garment (addition to original instruction); GaleGalen has used soft pleating instead of gathering that was instructed in the original pattern for a cleaner, nonfussy look; buttonholes are handworked and the front bow is a design element added by GaleGalen to create whimsy and youthfulness in this design.
