This is my daughter’s Senior Homecoming dress that she designed and I sewed. She has frequently been called “Snow White” in school so she took the nickname and decided to use it for her own Homecoming theme. We started with her sketch then went searching for a pattern and fabric to bring it to life. Since there was no pattern to match her sketch I started with McCall’s pattern 6466, taking elements from different views and customizing them for the look she wanted. The entire dress is lined. The bodice is boned and interfaced. There is an invisible side zipper. The bodice is satin with an overlay of dangle sequins. The midriff is satin and the skirt is satin with multi-layered gatherd tulle. I was so proud of her having a vision and asking me to help her make it a reality. The dress was a smashing hit.
