This is for a wedding that I will be attending in the Northeast in September. I chose to use the wrong side of a navy denim as the cross threads gave it a wonderful dressy silver appearance. I added a touch of black and gray animal fabric at the sides, then again on the neck facing which I reversed to jazz it up. For the understitching at the armhole facings, I stitched only through the facing layer and not the seam allowance on the dress. This gave it a beautiful rolled look. The invisible zipper at the back seam is lovely and gives the dress a very high-end look. All of the seams are contrast serged. It makes the inside fun. The edge of the neckline facing is a serged rolled hem. I used this to avoid adding bulk and maintain a smooth outer curve.I can’t wait to wear this very fitted dress to my nephew’s wedding. I will be the sexy auntie!
