This is my first attempt at sewing anything. I decided I wanted to make one of the gowns from the show The Tudors, and when I walked past this yellow taffeta, I knew just which dress to make! I combined a couple of Simplicity patterns to get the correct look. For the details on the bodice, underskirt, and sleeves, I drew a floral pattern close to the lace used on the show’s costume and beaded that design over a layer of organza. The bodice and sleeve edges were finished off with beading to trim it.
