I was inspired by a vintage house dress I purchased at a thrift store.  I copied the vintage dress to create my own pattern.  I was given an antique, silk kimono as a gift.  It pained me to cut into the kimono, but I loved repurposing the kimono in a more modern garment.  I applied pieces of the kimono along the bottom hem and added wool roving with a needle felting technique.  My sweet friend is modeling the dress.  Model is wearing a black slip under the dress.
