SewStylish Spring Fashion Challenge 2017

Spring coat

This light as air spring coat is made from net curtain fabric which I found guess where — in home decoration department! I learned to use this kind of fabric from Thread magazine of Winter 2014 which said that “window treatment fabric is surprisingly wearable”. And I fully agree with this. Look at my chic spring coat. I am not a model but I still look like I am coming from some high fashion store in haute couture! Lol. So this coat has inserts in the front and back to sculpt a perfect silhouette, a small upright collar, ¾ length sleeves and a pretty hook fastening. I embellished it with crochet trims which have some gold thread. The fabric doesn’t unravel, so I didn’t even need to finish the seams. The pattern is a modified Burda pattern from magazine issue 3/2006.
