This adorable toddlers’ dress, made in a size 3, is from Simplicity 2688. The fabric is 100% cotton, and a great weight for the design. The skirt is gathered at the waist into the bodice, and the joining seam is covered by ribbon, with a hand stitched on bow. The back of the dress has a lapped zipper. The sleeves are gathered/puffed at the top, and again gathered at the bottom, where the bottom gathers are contained in a thin band. I laminated the fabric for the purse and the handle, and used two large snaps for inner closure. The purse is lined with self fabric, and trimmed with matching ribbon and bow as is on the dress. As my granddaughter calls it: a Princess Dress.
