My daughter wanted to be a centaur deer for Halloween this year and I believe in making costumes 100% by myself.i set out and designed from scratch the entire costume. I started with a pvc pipe bone structure, carved out foam for bulk and then patterned out a plush fleece “skin” for the body and rollerblade style wheels on the back hooves for easy walking. It’s held up by a handmade harness which is covered by the handmade waterfall style tunic, flower details made with felt and faux flowers and finished off with antlers made from crayola model magic air dry clay, then painted and applied to a headband with sewn fleece ears and faux flowers. Let’s just say her costume was quite popular at the school carnival and trick or treating!
