There’s just something about this crazy chicken from the Disney movie “Moana” that I love! Every year I try to come up with a unique costume for my children’s school Halloween dance and as a way to test my creativity. All the material for this project appeared (shouting Hei hei!), as pieces of donated fabric found in a local thrift store and a $store blanket used for his head. I used one of my favourite costume base patterns(McCalls 7518) and the stuffed toy chicken from a recent Disneyworld trip for inspiration. The costume for Hei hei really just evolved as it usually does over a week of late, sleepless nights.
The feet are rubber gloves pulled over my shoes and the head pattern was based on a belaclava that I oversized. My eye hole is just under the beak. I could have my whole face out or covered right up.
