Reader’s Closet: Machine Embroidered Napkins
Sherri Michaels has been sharing her wonderful embroidered napkins on our regular Show Us Your Threads Facebook posts. We thought they would make a lovely and inspirational gallery. We hope you agree! Sherri writes:
I once heard a decorator say in an interview that after a house is decorated, the only practical way to continue the creative process is to change the table settings.
It’s fun & affordable! I pick up a couple of plates & mugs from Tuesday Morning or eBay or Etsy, then use them to create varied place settings. Last week I got out my embroidery machine & started making napkins to coordinate with the dishes. I’m also inspired by seasons & holidays (my late mother never missed celebrating holidays – even small ones!).
The Monogram Set
The napkins are all for casual family meals; these are not “good” napkins. I hand-smooth them when taking them out of the dryer, but never iron them. Some of the napkins I’ve had for years, but just recently embellished them. I coordinate the colors with the dishes I have.
Seasonal and Festive Napkins
Thanks again for showing us these wonderful napkins! You surely inspired others to create their own!
