JW, a former Threads digital ambassador (2023), works in the fashion industry as a consultant to independent designers and at companies large and small. His focus is in the men’s and women’s luxury ready-to-wear market.

“I sit down with designers and companies to help get their designs from paper to hanger-ready,” he says.

JW, a California native, has been sewing since age 13. He bought his first sewing machine from saved chore money and he still uses it today. He also knits, crochets, and does tatting—a skill he learned from his grandmas before he was 10.

He has studied at various fashion schools around the world, taking everything from machine knitting classes in Los Angeles to pattern drafting classes in Beijing. He continues to join classes in a multitude of textile subjects when time permits.
