There are a small group of fabric stores in London on Berwick street (off Oxford street- so not hard to find) I think there are 6 or so with some quite stunning fabrics.(Borowicks, Broadwick silks etc.)When I last visied Liberty -about 6 weeks ago- theywere in the middle of a refit and the fabics department was almost nonexistant. The other place to go is John Lewis (on Oxford street)
Happy fabric shopping
*I visited Liberty's recently, and things are improving a bit, but I suspect the department will never return to its former glory. Unfortunately John Lewis's is also refitting. I found a much reduced selection, queues for service and bad tempered customers. You could also try Joel's in Church Street, off the Edgeware Road, which has a very comprehensive, though expensive, selection of fabrics. I also believe there is another fabric shop in Church Street, which is somewhat cheaper. In Paris, there is a fabric shopping district at the foot of the hill of Montmartre but I have not visited it yet.Let us know how you get on.Ghillie
