How do you join the squares of a “biscuit quilt”?

What is a 'biscuit quilt'?  I've never heard of it.  Do you mean the process of quilt as you go (quilting each square individually, then joining them)?

They also call them a "puffy" quilt.  You stuff each square.  Are the seams exposed?

I hope you find instructions!  I tried making one about 30 years ago without instructions because I thought it looked easy enough to figure out.  I must have really overstuffed the bisquits because it became too cumbersome to work with.  They were called "puff quilts" then.  Good luck!  They look so cozy!

As Mary said, we used to call them puff quilts.  I've known people who sewed the squares together, either by hand or zigzagged them on the machine, whichever is the most comfortable way for you.  Also, as Annie said, they used to be be stuffed with old nylon stockings or the legs of pantihose, so they were quite light-weight.

According to the sites I found you whipstitch the biscuits together by hand. Also, one suggestion that I've heard for stuffing them to keep them lighter in weight is old panythose.Annie in Wisconsin, USA
