Does anyone have the instructions to make chair pockets? This is used to slip over the back of a students chair to hold supplies at elementary school.

I think I've seen patterns for stuff like this in McCall's or Simplicity latest pattern books, in the Home Dec or Crafts sections.
You don't need a pattern. Just choose a sturdy fabic and using the chair width as a guide, cut your fabric to fit plus seam allowances. The length of fabric you need will be determined by how deep you want your pocket to be. I'd assume you'd want it at least notebook depth. Then just Z fold the fabric and sew the side seams so that one pocket slips over the chair and the other holds the students things. You could have lots of fun with embellishments...iron ons with school themes. School colors. Students names. etc.
I've been doing some surfing and found the following page.
I think these directions were written by a teacher. Maybe you can make better sense of them than I can. I personally feel sorry for her students. LOL Anyway, here is someone elses idea. :) http://readinglady.com/4blocks2/The4Blocks/ssr/ChairP/chairp.html
I made 24 chair pockets for my daughter-in-law. She was delighted. I folded the pattern into a Z as you said. Easy and quick. Thanks.
I'm so happy it worked out for you!
