circle scarf/helix scarf

unfoldings | Posted in Patterns on

I am looking for a pattern from a circle of fabric(I think) that is cut in a spiral. When opened, it becomes a ruffled scarf. I have tried samples but the shape is not right. There is an example in Threads 91, pg. 42. Thanks for any help.

I think there are several spirals stitched together. Looking at the photo on page 42, the "loops" are different sizes. I suspect the larger, looser curls are the outer part of the spirals, and the tighter, smaller loops are from the center.

I see the artist's rendering shows curls that are all even. I'm guessing, from putting flounces on the hems of several skirts and dresses, that would be made from arcs all the same size.
