Hello, I am making my halloween costome this year and I would like to make a Playboy bunny costume. I am using the Boning Up On Bustiers article by Jacquie Keuler in issue #109 ,11/03, as a reference.
If anyone has any helpful hits, or information on how the original bunny suits were constructed, ( closure details, trimmings…)I would really apreciate any and all info or leads any of you could give.

I am remembering strapless, boning and zipper down the back. There was a movie made about a journalist who was a playboy bunny for an article, I think it was Gloria Steinem, who talked about the construction of the costume in detail.

I believe that Kirstie Alley (pre-weight gain) was the actress in that movie, you can probably google on her and get the title.

I am drafting the pattern from photos. I have never sewn anything like this and am really looking forward to the challenge.
Issue #103 has a really good article on zippers as well. The details are beginning to fall into place and next week, I will go into NY to buy the fabric and notions.
