Creating a lining pattern

Often I like to add a lining to a pattern but do not always have great success. I am working on what was originally an unlined fleece jacket with edging. Given that I would probably wear a sweater under it, I wanted it to slide smoothly over the other clothes. I decided to cut out lining fabric and treat the two fabrics as one. I did add a pleat at the center back of the lining piece of the bodice. However the sleeves are tight and bind. Suggestions? Hints? Tips

My guess is that the fabric you used to line the jacket has either no stretch or doesn't stretch as much as the fleece, which usually has lots of stretch. I don't think I've ever seen a stretchy fleece jacket that was lined, and probably that's the reason.

*I was at a Stretch and Sew seminar once that showed how you could fuse knit tricot fusing to any fabric with stretch, and then sew the pieces together as usual. So, you cut an additional piece of fusing out for all the pattern pieces, fuse all the pieces together to their corresponding fabric pieces and sew as usual. I haven't tried it, but the garments that were shown, looked really nice, and they were smooth on the inside. They laid really nice on the body. Hope this helps!
