Frock or Cutaway from modern suit

Ren73 | Posted in Patterns on

I once heard that someone had figured out a way to take a modern suit jacket and by either using the pants or part of the jacket and reworking it to transform it into a cutaway coat or a frock (seems to me it was the frock coat but it was like 10 years ago).

Anyone ever heard of this or tried it?

I work for a little costume shop and we could use some new frock and cutaway coats and I though thrift store suits reworked would be less expense than buying or making new ones.

Thanks!

Have you checked out the webpages from The Costumers Manifesto? http://www.costumes.org
There is some amazing stuff in there, and they probably would be the first place I would look. Cathy

I don't think I'd found that site before.  Lot of links though, that will take a while to look thru.

      Thanks

Found that one by accident. I'm still working my way through it. I thought maybe it would be helpful to you, even if it doesn't have exactly what you are looking for. There are quite a few that deal with coats and jackets for re-enactments, and I recall seeing something. I still have not found it for you, but If I do, I will post it. Cathy
