Is there a Seamtress in the House?

Kelly_Nix | Posted in The Archives on

I desperately need to find a good seamtress to help me with clothing problems due to a physical problem. I am a professional salesperson/single mom who loves to sew but has no time to do so. I have designs in mind and have found a few patterns that I feel would work but can’t find a seamtress for hire. Taylor shops are more into mens clothing and are not impressed with my desire for loose fitting, caftan like clothing. If anyone out there has any interest or knows anyone, especially in the Stockbridge, Georgia (close to Atlanta) area, PLEASE contact me. I am not a wealthy person but I know the time and expertise required for sewing so I am perfectly aware that decent prices will be required. Would expect nothing less. This is a very sincere request and a true need. Thank’s to all who read and respond.

I am responding to your request for a seamstress. I would be happy to talk with you further and see if I can help you out. I have been sewing for 30+ years, and most of my sewing has been clothing. I have recently been laid off, and am now pursuing my dream which is to start my own business sewing and designing. I live in a suburb of Minneapolis, MN, which unfortunately is far away from you, but I would be happy to work with you if I can.

Please contact me if you would like, and we can see what we can work out.

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Sincerely,

    Beverly

*For anyone in the US looking for sewing professionals, you could try the following site: http://www.paccprofessionals.org/ or http://seamstressdirectory.comIn Canada, try http://www.canadiansewing.comOn a slightly different note, I still bristle when I hear the term "seamstress." You may want to check out the following part of PACC's web page to clarify: http://www.paccprofessionals.org/custom_clothier.htm#2. Understand Job TitlesGood luck in your search!
