Hello, all! I have been on the sidelines reading lots of your postings (Lots of good advice and comraderie!) but now I need your help. My husband has turned our smallest bedroom into a utility and craft room with kitchen cabinets from Home Depot. He has left me an area to plan a built in sewing area with a converted bathroom cabinet that will match the others. Does anyone know where we can buy the lift mechanism for the machine / slides (whatever is needed) for him to do this? Thank you!!!

try http://www.rockler.com they sell sewing machine mechanical lifts and also plans for cabinets. Also try http://www.leevalley.com and other woodworking sites.
*Check with the local sewing machine dealers. Many also sell sewing furniture and components.
*Check your local charity stores (Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc.). They sell used sewing machine cabinets with lift mechanisms for as little as $5. You could use the cabinet as is, refurbish it, or use the lift mechanism in a new cabinet that doesn't have one.
*Steve, hey that's a really good idea...cannibalize! SXince I didn't realize how much a new mechanism would cost, my pocketbook, and hubby, like this one! Thanks, I'll start looking around.
