Making a Chanel Suit – find a pattern

Alnora | Posted in Patterns on

We are trying to create a Chanel type suit working from the article in THREADS #23, June-July 1983 – but time is of the essence – so we were wondering if anyone has found a pattern that complies with the basic shape and can be adapted to the techniques. Petite 8 is the size. we found one likely in Vogue #7860. any other ideas or suggestions?

McCall's 4391 reminds me a lot of a Chanel suit. I don't have the issue of Threads that you're working from, so I don't know if this pattern looks like what you're looking for.

There was a nice discussion about cunstructing Chanel jackets here this spring. Two patterns mentioned as suitable were Burda 2974 and Vogue 2764. You can find the earlier discussions by using the Search feature.

I am familiar with the earlier Threads article and was a particpant in the Chanel jacket discussion.  The original article emphasized a cardigan style jacket with a side panel.

I didn't realize how curt my answer was,  please don't apologize!
