Photo Transfer on Gourds

I have been trying to photo transfer on to the surface of a dried gourd. It is a slick, hard surface. Everything I have tried either rubs off after drying, smears during the process, or looks like a photo pasted on. Can you help? I hope so ! Thank you in advance Diane

OK, my first reaction was why would you wqnt to phototransfer on to a gourd. But be that as it may, have you tried the method mentioned ion Threads a few years a go, to tape a photocopy to the gourd paint the back with turpentine and rub with an old spoon. It does work on fabric-but you get a weak(soft) image. Have you looked at Jean Ray Laurie's book "Images on fabric" It just got reissued and is a good resource.
