Hope it warmer where you are! I enrolled my Mom, my sister-in-law, and myself for a quilting retreat through the Sunshine Carousel Shop in New Hampshire in April. Anyone been to one of these? If so, any tips on how to prepare or pack? Lynne and I are beginner sewers; my Mom probably would say she is too, but she’s too modest. Besides Keepsake Quilting, anywhere else up that way to “look” for fabric? Thanks.

BJ I have not been to that particular show but in general I would pack comfy clothes perhaps something that you have made that you want to show off and of course comfy shoes. Also if you can pack so that you can dress in layers so that you can add or subtract as the temps can change quickly. If you are taking any classes find out as quickly as possible if there is a supply list. Or if it is just a lecture type class take along paper and pen or pencil with a clip board as they do not always provide tables to write on. You may also want to check to see if they will allow those wheeled luggage carriers so that you can stash your purchases, that way your arms do not tire as easily. Also check for nearby restaraunts as there will come a time that you will need food and a fresh view to clear your head. Yes there usually will be a food vendor around but those are the type that you will find at ball games and other convention areas.
If you have a way to carry your wallet and drivers license without having to carry a purse that will eliviate sore shoulders as well. Also are you traveling a bit of distance to this show? If you are I would recommend that you book the hotel package if they offer one as it would allow more time to sleep in and longer to stay at night.
Hope this helps.
