*Ditto girls-had trouble around 8 pm CA time last night and still can't get in this am. Did send them an e-mail so hope we are up and running soon.

*Ditto, Was really disappointed last nite. Had not been able to chat much and when I finally get in, I'm booted out. Just tried to get in again and only received a blank screen. It's like losing your best friend. Hope to catch you later when it's up and running.Sewing in the snow.

*Hi Cat-disappointing isn't it. But this am did cuff a pair of pants for oldest son-used my serger & machine-they look great. Maybe I can work on cutting out my quilt again-especially since my 49er's lost their football game. It will take me awhile to figure out where I am. Happy sewing!

*Girls-my backup way to chat is working- goto.com Type in sewingworld -select sewingworld live -takes while to load but we can chat there until regular SW comes back up. It's 1:15 here in CA - will try about 2:15-2:30 again - maybe will catch someone later. Hope it works!

*I was in the chat room last night and just as someone else was coming in I got a network error message and haven't been able to access SW since. And I have so much news!

*Hi Everyone! I'm a SW advocate also - this is the first time though that I've actually posted here in Threads. I write with UFO Group 21 and enjoy hearing about the cold conditions in the states...while we've endured heat-wave conditions of upto 38 deg. Celcius many days of last week. Am also not able to get into SW ...and I'm a day ahead of you folks!! LOL You can visit me on: http://www.eisa.net.au~dcm ...in Sydney, Australia.

*Hi everyone, looks like we're all in withdrawal tonite. Krista probably didn't turn on the timer again and went away for the weekend, like Thanksgiving. We're all getting the same message, unable to connect to server etc. WELCOME to our new friend down under - Carole M. Glad to have you aboard, even if you do read upside down . ! Nitey nite.

*Miss you girls-have accomplished a few things around the house. Haven't caught anyone at the other way to get in-but looks like we are the only decent site...if you get my drift-but it does work..hopefully connect with you tomorrow. Miss you.

*I thought it may have been something wrong with my computer causing it to not connect with SW. I too am having withdrawal!Need help on Polartec project. Anyone have experience with making buttonholes in Polartec 200?

          8. Terri_ | | #12

*Hi ladies. Looks as though we are all in the same boat! LOL Think we might actually get some real sewing done if we're not glued to the computer? :O)Robin, I'm dying of curiosity...what news?

          9. Katrina_ | | #13

*Hi everyoneI too are having withdrawal symptoms - last time I had access was Thursday (I was too busy at work on Friday to get a chance to have a look and then I couldn't get on the pc Friday night as my 19 year old son was chatting to internet friends in Japan for most of the night!!) Found out Saturday morning - I get the first screen for SW but then when I click to log in it can't connect. It's Sunday 12:20 lunchtime here and I suppose I'll now have to do the housework instead!!Hope to see you all VERY soon in SW! - Katrina

*Terri, part of the news was for those of you near MA. The Building #19 stores have fleece lap blankets (50" x 60") for $7 and it turns out that even though the package says Tennessee Mills or something, they are really Martha Stewart Everyday ones. I thought I'd get some to make a jacket because it's cheaper than buying fleece by the yard, but I washed one up last night and it gets very thick and blankety. Great for a blanket, maybe not so great for a jacket? I still might go back to get one for the car, etc. Also, I have to talk about my serger dilemma!!! I can't make up my mind and I need to discuss!

*Marilyn, I had forgotten about that beta site for chat! We can still get to it directly by entering http://www.sewingworld.com/chat.htm (or html?)I was surprised when I followed your directions to see that MY web page is the #2 site listed right after the chat one! I haven't done much with it yet, but plan to upload photos of my projects, etc. But first I have to set up a page for my illustrations and see about getting some freelance work!Oh, and other news is that The Bernina Corner that used to be at Quilts 'n Things in Buzzard's Bay, MA is moving to Sit 'n Stitch in Falmouth. He is having a grand opening on Superbowl weekend and has a Jan/Feb special of a complete tune-up for $30! I dropped my 1031 off yesterday in Buzzard's Bay--now I have to find the new place!

*RobinYes you do need the "l" on the end (of html). I've just been into Sewing World Chat but because of the time difference here in the UK (and probably because not many people know of the beta chat version) I was the only one there! - Katrina

            *SW is back up.

*The very best way to do Polartec buttonholes is with one of those old-fashioned Singer buttonhole attachments that clamps the fabric and moves it back and forth rather than having the needle move. If you have one, give it a try. That way the fabric doesn't have to move under the presser foot.
