I have Windows Media Player and am unable to open or download the Threads videos offered here. I really don’t want to download yet another program to be able to do this as is suggested. Does anyone know if this is possible? Thanks for any help as it is quite frustrating. This is the only site that I have this problem with. Mary

Mary, Threads require RealPlayer or Quicktime plug-ins to view their videos. If you click on the "need help downloading" link (below the player download links) there are more help links. The Threads videos are a great addition to the many articles on their website.
Have you rechecked your program files to see if maybe those programs are there and just not set as default? My Windows XP Home computer came with all three programs, but the Windows Media Player is set as default.

Thanks for your help. You were right, it did come with my computer. When I found the program, the folder was empty. I must have deleted the contents since I did not have any use for it. I am sure the disk is here somewhere, but don't think it is worth the confusion for me of having two similar programs. ( I am not computer literate at all and have a hard enough time keeping track of my files and such)
You would not believe how many duplicate files DH finds when he helps me "clean up" my computer every few years. Especially all those embroidery designs that I have saved under different categories and then when I alter the designs, I rename them to avoid confusion!!! What a mess! lol I also back them up on CDs so it borders on rediculous!!! Someday I may need a full time computer programmer to save my marriage, ha ha
Oh well. Guess I can live without it as I really don't like to download programs from the internet and really do love the windows media player.
Thanks again for your help. I love this forum and really do appreciate your input.
sew silly me, Mary
