Trying to decide on 2 embroidery machine

KathyBlue | Posted in Machine Embroidery on

I’am trying to decide if I should purchase a Brother ULT2002D machine or a Janome 10000.  Does anyone have any info or experience on any of these machines?

I just bought my Janome 10000 3 months ago and absolutely LOVE IT!!!  I researched MANY, MANY machines before finally deciding that the Janome 10000 was the right one for me.  I have no regrets.  I did research the Brother ULT2002D but never did test drive it.  The reason that I lost interest in the 2002D was because I was told by many, many people that it is an excellent embroidery machine but not really as great for sewing.  I really wanted a machine with exceptional sewing capabilities and the embroidery to be just as good which is why I went with the Janome 10000.  From what I have heard, I believe that the Janome is also a much smoother operating machine than what Brother makes.    I also talked to a few people who worked with different machines, ex. Viking, Brother, Janome, etc. and was always told that the Janome had the least repair problems.  Janome also has tons of support available.  Go to their website at http://www.janome.com and look at all the lessons and projects.  These are great to print out and try on your machine.  I also bought the digitizer and have been having a blast with that.

Anyways, decide what is best for you and have fun sewing/embroidering!

If you have anymore questions about the Janome 10000 specifically, ask and I will try to help.

    Katrina,

I have also been debating between the same two machines for over 6 months.  Now brother has come out with the ultbrother 2003 d.  same machine as the 2002d but with more disney designs.  I liked the disney designs but I did not want the "cuteness" of the characters to deter the decision in which to me was a better machine for home use.  I sent for the cds and lined up on paper what both machines did and did not have, I went to reputabe dealers in my area and used the machines and asked custumers in the store which they liked better (janome was most of their first choice) I have tried to find a consumer report list on the top of the line machines but their is none for the present machines, only one about 3 years back. I still can not make up my mind.  Both machines are good and rate equally well.  price is about comparable.  the one thing about the janome that i have read in many forums on the net, I do not ever read that anyone hates their machine, but have read some people were having trouble with repairs on the brother.  SOOOOOOO, if anyone who is reading this has seen of found a comparision chart and rating chart on these new top of the line machines, I would appreciate it.  They just did a chart of machines from about 1500.00 or less that just came out......

    good luck

all i know is that by christmas, all i want from santa is a new machine.

Hi Katrina,  I recently purchased a Janome MC 10000.  I absolutely love it.  I, too, looked at the Brother machine.  I do not like that so much of the machine's capacity is spent on Disney designs.  Also, the Janome is so easy to set up for embroidery:  push a button on the screen, change the foot, and attach the hoop and you are ready to go.  There are so many features that make me so happy that I have it.  You should try it out at your dealer's showroom and see what you think.

    Good Luck,

    Rose
