I love to sew anything in miniature, handbags, belts, scarves and fashions. I avidly collect dolls, doll patterns, fabric and miniature embellishments. I love creating a head to toe look and make jewelry and other accessories to complete each ensemble.

I, too, have a passion for minature! You are the first person that expressed my inner desires so articulately. Although I look and attend lectures than actually sew. Through you, I am so inspired. Would love to hear from you, if you are so inclined... are you inclined to share resources? I totally love your designs and creative balance concerning textures, color, form and fit...

I am having difficulty sewing a dress for a 25' doll, Vintage style... the dress involves a very wide skirt and needs to puff out dramatically. Any suggestions for resources... finding fabric that I can gather for the waist is also a problem. Your accomplishments with fine tuning draped blouses in miniature is amazing to me.

    To Designing Pat
I am not sure how to comment and reply to you, I hope you come back to look.
I am glad you are inspired and that is always the case with me, I have so many ideas and so little time, I feel like I am racing the design/creative clock and use up more energy thinking about sewing than actually sewing I am sure.
As for your quest to make this skirt, I usually gather a full skirt that needs the body by using tulle, to gather with tulle makes the gathers very tight and precise, so but the tulle and the main fabric the same to gather. Also if you are lining, cut the lining shorter than the main fabric, sew along the bottom and the back closing edges, then turn and gather across the top with the tulle, leaving it free as the unders skirt. So in effect you have a your main and lining attached as one piece, then the tulle as the free floating under skirt. The lining will not drop below if it is alittle shorter and also if you run a seam along the lining side once you have turn it right sides out. Hope this makes sense and thanks so much

I am not able to figure out how to reply to each comment, or respond to individual posts, I wish there was a way to do that and also a way to know when a new post is submitted.
For now, thanks for the comments and I hope you all find your way back to see my responses somehow.

    Hi again,

No i didn't find the way to reply to each comment. i tried everything, but not sure that its possible. If you have some work submitted then i can go on your page (Like im doing now) and leave a comment there, but for example i had some people who left comments, who have the account created and the nickname, but no projects submitted, then it doesnt give me an option to leave any comments or replies on their page.It is a bit odd but i left it as it is for now..
There'r forums as well where you can chat to people directly
Ment to ask u, is making clothes for dolls anyhow connected with your proffesion or is it just pure hobby?

matisse, I have never seen such beautiful 11 1/2" doll clothing and accessories. What kind of sewing machine do you use to achieve such fine detail. Is it one of the newer ones with all the attachments? I can't imagine how you achieve the fine seams on these garments. I know that in the manufacturing business of garments for these dolls, they must have had special sewing machines made because I am not able to do this on my sewing machine. Please share with me how you have achieved this. Clearly, you are very talented and I know you have years of experience and it shows. Again, you must hear it all the time, your clothing is simply beautiful and you deserve the praise.
