Elegant Lace Dress
This is my own design. The lace is an irridescent metallic lace underlined with one layer of silk chiffon over a layer of shimmery silk taffeta. The sleeves of the bolero are adapted from Vogue pattern 1162. I eliminated the seam allowances from the sleeve ruffles and roses, cut them from two layers of silk chiffon and added one layer of silver metallic silk chiffon to each ruffle. This gave a fuller look to the roses. Since the ruffles were cut on the bias, I left the edges unfinished. Heat set crystals were added to the bolero. The belt is one layer of the silk taffeta covered with a layer of silk chiffon. A rhinestone buckle completes the look and adds sparkle.
