“Barbershop Quartet” outfit for wedding

I made this outfit for my grandson to wear to my nephew’s wedding. The fabric is silk dupioni. I was going for a classic, “barbershop quartet” look. He wore white knee socks and saddle shoes with it. Though my daughter had reservations about him wearing such an outfit at age nine, he loved it and happily danced the night away. The striped fabric was a horizontal stripe, so I cut it cross grain, which made matching up the stripe at the shoulder seam a bit more of a challenge for some reason… one which I didn’t quite meet on the one shoulder… oops! If I remember correctly I underlined the vest with silk organza; shorts are lined with cotton batiste. Overall it was a fun project, fun look and a success! Purchased shirt.
