Books

sgars | Posted in General Sewing Info on

I have some young girls on my shopping list who would like to learn to sew and need sewing reference books. Does anyone know of a good refrence book for girls aged 8-12 years that will teach them the basics of sewing? They already have a “klutz” refrence book, but are there any on the market that will take them further?

Sewing For Dummies is good; it goes over the very basics and does some more advanced stuff.  Additionally, it's not machine-specific so they shouldn't have any "my machine doesn't do that" problems.  This book was given to me as a joke one year and I was quite surprised to find myself using it as a referenc(if only I could get it back from my sister!).
