To all who replied to my question, I`m almost done with my jacket!! Have to take it to town and have the cleaners give it a real good press. My poor old iron does`t do such a good job and i found that the local cleaners does a real proffesional job of the final press. I still have to add the braid trim and maybe the chain if i can find one somewhere. I made this from a linen and cotton blend boucle that I found one the orphan fabrics pile at Jo-Anne fabrics but have just ordered a pink and tan wool on the internet along with some silk charmuse for lining. Needless to say this will be a more costly jacket than the other. From the amount of responses to my question ,I think we all are enamored of the Chanel Jacket!!Hope to see more dialog on this subject. Bonkers

Threads - issue 23 had an in depth article you might want to look at. If you don't have a complete collection, the early ones with Chanel and Armani were so good. The Armani one, she took one and took it apart. Facinating......sharon
Billsgirl, I`m going to try the library for the #23 issue. I wonder how much an original Chanel jacket cost? Does anybody know? Had to be astronomical with all that handwork. Course the rich folk don`t care about that!! Thanks for your input. Bonkers
Congratulations on finishing your jacket! I do hope you'll post a picture for all of us to enjoy!
Thimbles, This has been the most fun i have had in a long time. I just learned how to run a computer this winter. Had never turned one on before. Quite a challenge at 66 years old.!So I don`t know how long it would take me to master a camera! My daughter will have to do that for me.I have done all kinds of sewing in the last 50 some years. From making cowboy chaps to baby clothes, but this jacket was the most fun.Ive made several quilts including some beaded ones, so i think I`ll try hand quilting the next jacket. How many jackets is too many for one person?? Ha! Thanks for your interest. Bonkers
Regarding the comuter you wrote: " Quite a challenge at 66 years old.!"WOW!! You go girl!!! I'm proud of your willingness to tackle a new challenge. As for the jacket, you've got me looking for the pattern. If you can learn the computer, I can learn to sew! Thanks for the inspiration!
