*georgia, refresh my memory on what the heck this is....is it a little pocket you wear around your neck, with needles and other hand-sewing necessaries?

*Dear Georgia -I seem to remember that the Clotilde catalogue either has ready made ones or kits. I think that Keepsake Quilting has kits as well. A chatellaine is the feminine form of Chateau owner. She is the lady with the keys - so in the olden days those chateau girls had necklaces with pouches that held the keys and I guess the scissors & other sewing supplies. Folks are selling cute kits to hold sewing essentials like scissors in a convenient place. I dunno, i kind of think of my whole dining room as my personal chatelaine (much to my husband's chagrin).sarah

*Karen, a chatelain was worn around the waist of needlewomen to carry their needles, sissors, pins, and thimble. Many times they were custom decorated. I do ribbonry, and would like to find directions on how to design these. Thanks for your reply.
