Hello, I’m new to this discussion group. I’m a quilter, have been teaching for many years, and used to own a quilt shop.
BUT – I’ve decided to get back into sewing some of my own clothing. Two shirts that I love to wear in the summer are the collared knit polos, and the collarless knit henleys. I can’t seem to find patterns for either of these shirts anywhere! Neither stores, nor on-line.
I am also having problems finding “adult” looking knit fabrics. I can find tons if I were 4-yrs old! Am I just not with it when it comes to fabric and pattern trends? Can anyone help?
Thanks, Barb

Both stretch & sew and kwik sew have collared polos for women in their current catalogues. Jalie also has a collared polo. Kwik Sew used to have a very nice collarless Henley, #2304. It seems to be out of print now, but you may be able to find it by typing the pattern number into a google or ebay search.
http://www.kwiksew.com is Kwik Sew's URL. Jalie, I think, is http://www.jalie.com and I always forget what exactly Stretch & Sew's is, but just googling the phrase should get you to their website. Once you're in any of these websites, you will be able to hunt around and go through their online catalogues.

I agree about the fabric problem I end up using plai fabrics and the embroidering pockets etc on my machine You could also use ribbon troms and the coloured twill tape . Also plain rugby knits used in blocks of colour for sleeves collar etc and then finished with top stitching can look really nice .
I stock many adult-type knits, ready-made collars, Kwik-Sew and Stretch & Sew Patterns - have made many of these shirts. Contact me for further information.
