Cotton/lycra(5%) solids or prints

rekha | Posted in Talk With Us on

Can someone please direct me to a webpage that sells heavyduty (11oz upwards) for making leggings. In the past I bought from Textile Outfitters and Christing Jonson. The latter now sells mainly rayon/lycra; I have had swatches from them and eamononesock but the material is not suitable for the kind of wear one gets on the crotch.

I went to the site and tried to order swatches and guess what the shipping cost was to the UK: $66!!!!

Whoa! sorry Rekha, didn't realize you were in the UK. They don't charge shipping on under $20 of swatches in the states. Their site is kind of Mickey Mouse on the shipping charges. If you don't find suitable fabric elsewhere you might try emailing them to see if that is what they really charge for shipping.

I wrote to Seattle fabrics and this is what I got.

This shipping est. is incorrect. You'll be charged for the samples and the lowest cost for the shipping via 1st class mail. The web host we use will not allow the correct shipping charges to show up for international mail. Here is our shipping info if you have any other questions please feel free to email me.

I am posting this in case anyone else has the same experience:

Unfortunately our website is limited and does not currently allow Air Parcel Post as a shipping option for international orders, however this shipping option is available. In general we ship all orders to International Countries via the U. S. Post Office because the UPS option is TOO expensive

          Many thanks CarolW

You might google search "spandura", it's what they use for riding horses so should work for the bicycling too.  Good luck in your search.  Mary
