My mom is preparing her loom for sale. She hasn’t used it in years as she prefers to spend her eyesight and arm strength on her painting now. It is an 8 harness countermarch Glimakra that she bought around the late 70’s. It is the 60″, I think, and is in Charlottesville, Virginia. If anyone in this part of the country has a craving for a nice big loom and wants to meet a lady that trained with weaving pros in Sweden I will be glad to introduce you.

Hi Elisabeth,
I wish I lived in your area so I could meet your mom and take a look at that loom! I'm a big fan and admirer of the swedish weavers and techniques and I love the swedish built looms, (I currently have a Toika myself).

Have you put it on E-bay or some place like that? If you looked there, you might find how the prices are running. Most weavers would jump at the chance to get such a big loom for a good price.....if getting it home wasn't a problem. rjf
Yes, Ebay was the next step, we have seen a few sold there and it did help with the pricing. My mom connected with someone in her local scandinavian group, a new member, that has longed for a loom for all of her adult life. She knits and draws knitting/weaving patterns all the time, I hear. She is 47 now and I would say that is high time for a dream to be realized. Saturday she will go for a look. I hope it works out, it sounds like the perfect match.
That's wonderful. Tell her for me that she'll be very glad later if she does it now. But probably everyone in the group is telling her that. rjf
