There is a Gutermann Color chart in the back cover of the Atlanta Thread & Supply Company catalog. The colors appear to be true. The number to get a free catalog is 1-800-847-1001.
Dear Mareja, Thanks for the information on the Guterman thread chart. I will be sure and obtain a catalog. I use a lot of thread in my home based Alteration business, and buying the smaller spools at JoAnn ETC. gets pretty expensive. I know that the Dry Cleaning supplies catalog has the larger 1100 spools for around 2.95. Again thanks for taking time to help, Betty Sanford, Lancaster, Ohio
I order thread from Cansew, they have a $50 Cdn. minimum order but I find their products to be great quality and the large spools of thread last forever. They also sell rolls of elastic and webbing and all kinds of things you might need in an alteration business. I don't know if they ship to the US but I wouldn't be surprised and with the exchange on the dollar it would be even cheaper. They supplied me with a thread colour chart (made with real thread) that is absolutely wonderful.
