how do I remove a stud from jeans pocket
Help. I need to take a pair of jeans in at the hips and there is a stud on the very edge of the pocket that is in the way. I can’t get it off. I’ve been trying to pry it off with a screw driver. Any suggestions? Obviously I don’t care what it looks like when I’m finished I just need to be able to sew a seam there. Thanks

You are on the right track. They are difficult to remove. I put the pants in a vice very close to the stud and worked from there with the screwdriver. Can you cut it out (very carefully close to the stud)?
thanks for the suggestion. I have now had my hubby take some sort of cutting pliers to them and the studs are out. There is a bit of a hole in one pocket but can include it in the seam allowance.
Have you tried to use the plier type metal snips? The sharp edges are finer than a screwdriver and might get in under the stud better if your hands are strong enough. Cathy
Abbycat's suggestion works: use a metal snip plier, work from the back, and cut off the flat metal disk. It may bend before you cut it, but you can't reuse a rivet anyway.
Be aware that you will be left with a 1/4" hole through all the layers; if it will be in the new seam allowance, that's fine, but if not, you'll need to put in a new rivet or patch it/embellish it somehow.
