Inexpensive Lightweight Machine

Karensews | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

I am interested in buying an inexpensive, lightweight machine to take to a weekly sewing class.  I have a Pfaff 7550 and a Bernina 830 but do not want to dismantle them weekly and trot them over plus they are rather heavy.  I wondered about the Simplicity Liberty Sewing Machine that weighs only 12 lbs and is not for sale at half price for $149 through Nancy’s Notions.  Does anybody have experience with this or suggestions about any other machine.  I’d appreciate any input.

    Karen,

Rather than buying a new machine, I use a luggage cart when I take my machine anywhere. You can buy them for $20 at most hardware stores, they have a wire shelf, wheels and bungie cord to secure your machine. When I am not using the cart, I can fold it up for storage.
