Istanbul vest

DiannasHunt | Posted in Talk With Us on

The Nov. 2007 #1`33 magazine has an article “Quick to Make”, Istanbul vest. On page 78 there is a diagram of a shawl that is 72″ by 72″ but is drawn as a rectangle. On page 74 there is a diagram that indicates the shawl is 72″ by 27″ and is drawn as a rectangle. Is that the correct dimensions for the plan on page 78?

Thanks for your feedback.

I went ahead and cut a piece of fabric 72 x 27" and sewed the shoulder seams. That's the right dimensions. I think it will turn out to be pretty easy to put together.

    Istanbul vest

I sewed this vest in 2010 .Greys and off white. Follow instructions. Stabilise arm hole -bias cut -especially on loose weaves. Add bust darts if needed.

Very happy with mine. Many compliments.
