Latest issue – when sent out? Not rec’d.

sosewnem | Posted in Talk With Us on

Hi everyone,

It has been awhile since I have visited the forum, but Threads is my home page, so I get to see all kinds of other things. I noticed about a week (or more?) ago the dress form with measuring tape around it and realized a new Threads Magazine issue had come out. I’m still waiting for my copy.

In reading through some comments on the Gathering area, I noticed someone exclaiming they still didn’t have their Threads Magazine – that was on March 14th.

I don’t want to call for a replacement too soon, but surely would like to have my issue. It looks like a great one!

I guess I’ve had my nose in my college studies too much to be able to enjoy sewing. I cut a dress out on Spring Break, but my whole break was spent studying.

Thanks,

Noreen

Don't hesitate; call them now, and don't feel bad about it.  Mine was late again this month, and I called to get a replacement already, which arrived last week.  If enough of us call when this happens, maybe they will finally fix the problem.

      Thanks for replying.

It is possible that address labels peel off during shipment. I noticed recently that had begun to happen again. (It was a problem at some point in the past - maybe a couple years ago.)  After I called for a replacement issue way back then and had mentioned how the magazines would arrive with it peeling, they must have taken care of the problem, because it didn't happen after that, however, I noticed it with recent copies.

I'm so busy with my college studies that I get to enjoy perusing the magazine for a day or two, then it goes into my magazine holder. But someday, I will have the pleasure of reading through them again!  :-)

I am assuming that the lastest issue is the April or April/May issue. I have the Feb./March 2009 one, along with years of copies, sorted by date.

My copies don't come with labels anymore, as they are encased in a large, protective plastic "envelope" - and my name/address is printed right onto that plastic.  It's great as that covering protects the magazine from getting torn or frayed in transit.

You are wise to save all of your issues.  Kudo's to you.  I know you will appreciate them in the years to come when you are able to take time to both review them and to use them as references or design ideas.  I have all but the first few issues and don't expect to ever part with them.  I just hope my children are wise enough to either give them to someone who will cherish them or sell them to some lucky person who will when I am no longer here.

In the meantime, enjoy your college studies.  I loved that time in my life; so much, in fact, that I went back twice for another degree in an entirely different subject.  It was the best gift I've ever given myself.  If I had the energy now, I go back again.

Definitely contact the circulation department; the issue has already been delivered and shelved in our campus library, so it's been out for awhile.

Yes definitely she needs to call. It seems it should be time for the next issue pretty soon!

        Thaks everyone.

I did call and they did ship me a replacement copy, which came Saturday.  I've been receiving Threads for years and don't want to miss out!
