Hi I just saw your thread and I had a question

Do you mean a custom pattern making company, Like you have a pattern you drafted and you want it printed?

I am no help to you I am sorry but I was wondering if that is what you meant by your question or am I totally off base

    Thanks for the clarity

    Connie

Hi blondie, No, I`m looking for a company that you send your measurements to and they draft their patterns to your paticular size. I have tried a couple of them online but the sites do not work. I have a granddaughter that is very tall and broad in the shoulders but the kids patterns are too small and the adult patterns are not right in the body and proportionss are off. Maybe there is no such product. Thanks Bonkers

you need to find a custom clothier that can draft this for you, there is a company that does this but I haven't heard great things about it, they take only a few basic measurements and spit out the pattern (I think just slopers) based on that. IMHO its not enough measurements to get a proper fit. I think its also geared towards adults, not children sizes.http://pattern.stringcodes.com/index.html Do you know how to alter patters from a fitting sloper? (I can draft one from her measurements for a fee) but I'm not sure if its worth it. How fast is she growing that she would outgrow any custom draft.Actually, an even better investment for your money, get pattern master botique childs play and do the patterns yourself on the computer. In the long run that would be the cheapest means - only one time investment of $100.00 and as she grows and changes you can just update her measurments in the computerhttp://www.wildginger.com/

Hey I have that wild ginger software Childs play as well....I have't really dived into it I am kinda gun shy so all you who have the Adult programs I may be asking you some questions on the initial sloper partI didn't get the Adult one I thought I would first try my hand at the Child's one...
I have gotten so far as taking my daughters measurements....So there you so and I was going to suggest this to Bonkers as well so there you have it!! Great investment...(now I just got to use it too) ha ha haConnie

Many thanks to all of you! I think I will try the Wild Ginger suggestion. Maybe some day the pattern companies will get with the 21st century and develope a new way of selling patterns. Like picking out a pattern and printing out the correct measurements on site rather than carrying those huge selections of sizes in each store. Think of how much money and paper that would save over the years. They must discard millions of unsold patterns over the years. I hope some genius will come up wth something like that in the future! Hppy sewing, Bonkers

    Dear Bonkers,

Ditto on the Wild Ginger products!  I have the software that drafts women's garments and it is great, saves so much time and money, and the customer service is outstanding.  You can go to their website and download a demo of their products for free to check it out before you buy it and, if you do decide to purchase, you have up to 90 days to evaluate it or return for your money back.  Best wishes with whatever you decide :)
