Hi – I’m new to Gatherings. I’ve been sewing since the ice age — mostly clothes for myself, but I love all kinds of needlework. I’m presently restocking my jeans supply and found the jean-fitting article in the most recent issue of Threads to be very helpful. I use Burda pattern 4601 — another relic from the ice age — but one that I’ve *tweaked* until it fits. I’m an unreformed fabricholic, have slews of patterns, notions and *stuff*. Any replies or comments will be welcome. Kathy

I recently discovered Threads Magazine, and I was really impressed with everything it has to offer. I just wanted to introduce myself, and this seemed like the place to do it. My name is Colleen. I sew costumes for my husband and myself, which we wear to science fiction conventions, live action role-playing games, and parties.
I belong to and greatly enjoy a forum for cooking. Lately I've been looking for a place to talk with people who understand sewing and its joys and frustrations. I hope this is it!
Thanks!
*stuff* with asterisks is much more important than plain old stuff. Thank you for showing me the difference. I will now look at all the *stuff* I have with pride. rjf
