Preshrinking millinery grosgrain ribbon

jenniferbabs | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

Hi. I was just finishing up the Patricia Underwood Hat(Vogue 7600 ,view B) and I need some information on how to preshrink the grosgrain ribbon.
I made the hat to be washable, so I want the ribbon to be washable, too.
Thanks for helping me out with this.

Jen, I have on several occasions allready dumped gross grain in boiling water, let it dry and press. My grand dauter is still little and all the clothes have to be washed, so that is the way I do all trimming for washable articles.  It allways works for me.  First try a small piece if you have extra and see how you like it.

    Goodluck,

    Marina

Thank you, Marina! I really appreciate your help. It will be a washable hat - yay!
