Does anyone know if scorch marks from the iron can be removed or altered? I scorched a pair of mens navy wool pants. It is a small spot, but it looks shinny and so stands out.
I don’t know where to look for this kind of information. Thanks.

Sometimes all it takes is scratching the scorch-mark with a fingernail or a wire brush to lift the nap or the loft back up. Best solution is still prevention: use a press-cloth to avoid making wool surfaces shiny.
*Hi Sandy, I have a fantastic book called "The Super Stain Remover Book" by Jack Cassimatis, I haven't had to try the scorch remedy personally, but what I have tried has been successful.Coloureds: Dampen scorch mark and rub some corn flour in well. Leave to dry and iron as usual. Nylon, wool or mohair: sponge with diluted peroxide (1 part hydrogen peroxide to 4 parts water) and wash in warm soapy water with a little added borax. Ensure that all borax is rinsed off.Unwashables: Make a solution of 1 teaspoon borax to 1-1/4cups (10 oz.) hot water and spread over mark. Sponge off with clean water.Good luck!
*hi sandy,i have heard if you rub a freshly cut onion onto the scorched area.although i think you have to it on straight away.have not tried it myself ,hope it works for you.
