Source for Paisley Brocade fabric?

RobertBishop | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

I am constructing an 18th century gentleman’s suit for an organist/conductor to wear for baroque concerts.  I have seen a fabric on a church supply website that would be perfect for the vest, but they do not sell fabrics by the yard.

It is the Paisley Brocade on the murphyrobes.com website: http://murphyrobes.com/text.asp?id=fabrics_colors#paisleybrocade

Does anyone know of a source for a yard or so of this fabric?

Thanks!

Robert

That paisley brocade is fabulous; sorry I don't know of a source.  I would like to suggest you try upholstery fabric stores and also specialty home decor shops for throws and scarves.  You might find a scarf in more the fabric amount you require.  Galey

Not that exact paisley, but there is a paisley brocade on the web at Manhattan fabrics. Also, try Banksvilledesignerfabrics.com.

Another option might be to purchase a lighter weight "silky" type brocade fabric, like you would make a blouse with. Fuse it to a woven interfacing and treat like the heavier brocade.
