Recently I have decided that every week I will try to use a new technique or tip found in Threads. And since I have about five years of back copies, that’s alot of new stuff to learn. Yesterday I put three D pockets on a skirt I have designed. they are fantastic. they feel substantial and look great, giving a plain yoke waisted skirt a funky look.
Tomorrow I am changing a regular hem in the pattern to a scalloped one.
Last month I started using my ruffler— finally— and I even mastered my blind hem foot. Keep those new skills coming !!!
I really look forward to each issue and save them like gold.

Hi, ByDezine! Glad to hear you're enjoying Threads past and present. Have you considered entering one (or more) of your creations in the "Inspired by Threads" challenge? Check it out at http://www.taunton.com/threads/pages/t00126.asp. The technique or idea that you use must come from the past year of Threads, and the deadline is next month, I believe.
We love to see what our readers are doing with the ideas we publish, so I hope you and others will send us photos.

I am a long time subscriber to Threads, and feel it is the best sewing magazine or journal around. I personally was glad when they went more to an emphasis on sewing, rather than other things like knitting, which I do not do. However overall I think it is the best and have learned a great deal. It does inspire you to move from doing ordinary work to the extraordinary! Joyce
