Timtex substitute

abcsews | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

Does anyone know of a substitute for Timtex that isn’t as costly?  I am into making fabric bowls and would like something less expensive but just as effective as Timtex.

Thanks.

I made several usuing a denim weight heavy woven. It worked really well. Aren't they fun to make? I'll bet you could use two layers put together with a spray adhesive if you want a little more bulk. Experiment.

Timtex is cheaper if you buy it by the yard vs those little packages they come in.  Do a search for Timtex and you'll see quite a few on line dealers will come up.  Also ebay is a good source for it too.

Thanks.  I did buy a bolt on E-Bay a few months ago, but now that I am really into making bowls - a lot of bowls, I know I am going to run out.  There was an ad a week or so ago that I saw for something that cost $1 a yard, but I didn't copy the info down.
